I’ve written a guest blog for the Spilling Ink blog, about how creativity isn’t really so creativity as you might think!

Spilling Ink is a wonderful guidebook for kid-scribblers, edited by the equally wonderful duo of Anne Mazer and Ellen Potter (with art by the terrific Matt Phelan).  I wish there had been such a book when I was a kid.

And had a pretty astounding time.

The show at the Skirball, “Monsters and Miracles” is really an amazing thing.  I doubt that there’s ever been anything quite like it before.  If you’re a West Coaster, and you’re interested in picture books, or Jewish life, or art, or kids… go now.

If you’re an East Coaster, it’ll be coming to the Carle Museum in the fall!
