I love this book and am delighted that it was given an Honor Award. The story is excellent and the illustrations are exquisite. Second, it is so nice to read that Elka is a woman after my own heart. As someone who devotes every spare moment to pointing out the Jewish values content in secular books, it is encouraging to read about a parent and an author who feels exactly as I do. I loved it so much that I read it during the Shabbat that fell during Pesach last year. To a group of adults. There was not a dry eye in the house at the end. It was a moving story. About the complexities of emotion and reasoning and truth and Truth. So thrilled that it was honoured. And so thankful to learn more about the author! A great interview!!
